Location: Plano, TX
Salary: $25.00 USD Hourly - $35.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Data Center Critical Facilities Technician
*This is a hybrid opportunity!*

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Manage APC DCE/ITA or Vertiv Sitescan environments and servers.
  • Configure, update software, add components, and set up alert configurations/monitoring.
  • Build, program, and configure new items to be monitored (e.g., UPSs, Power Strips, cameras).
  • Manage license counts for DCE & ITA, and set program thresholds for alerting and alarming.
  • Understand HVAC, UPS, ATS, and Generators functions and alarming.
  • Support backend operations with a strong background in Electrical engineering and exposure to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering along with HVAC.
  • Oversee vendor implementation of electrical, environmental, and mechanical equipment improvements.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are performed within manufacturer recommended schedules or industry standard time intervals.
  • Research, recommend, plan, and oversee vendor implementation of equipment improvements.
  • Enforce physical access, safety, and security policies for restricted data center areas.
  • Proven working knowledge of Servers, Storage, and Networking in a data center environment (e.g., Nutanix, HP, VMWare, Cisco Switches) is a plus.
Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing APC DCE/ITA or Vertiv Sitescan environments and servers.
  • Understanding of HVAC, UPS, ATS, and Generators functions and alarming.
  • Background in incident ticketing and change management applications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills utilizing Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to inventory items in the data center and document them.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment supporting immediate and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to utilize data center guidelines and best practices and identify deficiencies.


Schedule:
  • Required to work on at least 1-2 weekends or more under 2 months.
  • 40 hours a week with some infrequent overtime.
  • Occasional travel required (4-5 trips in 12 months, possibly to Mexico and data centers inside the USA).
