Description

This role is available at any location in the Minneapolis or Fargo Markets.

The Azure Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud architecture with business objectives, ensure best practices in cloud governance, and drive innovation through cloud-native technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure services, infrastructure as code, and enterprise architecture principles.

Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

Design end-to-end Azure solutions that meet business and technical requirements.

Develop reference architectures and solution blueprints for cloud adoption and migration.

Ensure scalability, reliability, and security in all Azure-based designs.

Cloud Strategy & Governance

Define and enforce cloud governance policies, including cost management, security, and compliance.

Lead cloud adoption strategies and roadmap planning.

Evaluate and recommend Azure services and third-party tools.

Implementation & Automation

Oversee deployment of Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

Automate cloud operations and workflows using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools.

Support migration of on-premises workloads to Azure.

Security & Compliance

Implement Azure security best practices including identity management, role-based access control (RBAC), and network security.

Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001).

Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of cloud solutions.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers and developers.

Conduct architecture reviews and provide guidance on performance optimization.

Monitoring & Optimization

Monitor cloud performance and usage; recommend cost-saving measures.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure and services.

Leadership

Conduct regular one-on-ones to align cultural & business objectives, prioritize the most important work and coach to high performance.

Facilitate execution through effective situational leadership tools.

Support engagement and action by listening to team member feedback - what's working, what's not - support them in initiating and executing positive changes and provided them with adequate resources.

Support in the team members professional and personal.

Catch team members being approximately right through timely, individualized recognition.

Promote collaboration and face to face interaction.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant experience with requisite competencies.

Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role with a focus on Microsoft Azure.

Strong understanding of Azure services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, etc.).

Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) preferred.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Travel Requirement

This position requires travel to support business needs, including team collaboration, internal trainings, and cross-functional initiatives. The frequency and duration of travel will vary based on organizational priorities and team needs.

The base salary for this role is listed below. This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws. The base salary may vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, experience and geographic location. Full-time employees are also eligible for a competitive bonus and benefits package.
