Location:- Long Island, NY 6 8 week onsite

Schedule: Monday Friday, normal business hours

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Consultant to lead the end-to-end migration of enterprise DLP capabilities from Symantec DLP to Zscaler Data Protection. This role involves technical design, policy mapping, migration execution, and validation of DLP controls across endpoints, email, and cloud applications. The consultant will work closely with the client's security, compliance, and IT operations teams to ensure a secure and seamless transition with minimal business disruption. Strong communication skills and intermediate development experience are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Migration Planning & Architecture

Lead the assessment and discovery of existing Symantec DLP configurations, including policies, data identifiers, incident workflows, and integration points

Design the target architecture for Zscaler DLP, integrating with ZIA, ZPA, CASB, and ZCC as applicable

Develop a migration strategy and phased implementation plan for policies, endpoints, and network inspection points

Map existing Symantec DLP policies, keywords, and dictionaries to Zscaler's detection logic and classifiers

Implementation & Configuration

Configure and deploy Zscaler DLP policies, content inspection profiles, and user access rules

Integrate Zscaler DLP with M365, Google Workspace, Box, Slack, and endpoint agents as required

Define and implement incident response workflows, reporting dashboards, and alert routing

Validate data classification and content inspection accuracy through controlled testing and tuning

Support API-based integration with SIEM (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) and ticketing systems

Testing & Validation

Conduct functional and UAT testing for each DLP policy and channel

Perform policy tuning and optimization to reduce false positives and enhance coverage

Document all test cases, results, and migration verification reports

Knowledge Transfer & Documentation

Develop comprehensive runbooks, SOPs, and operational guides for post-migration support

Deliver technical workshops and training sessions for client security administrators.

Create migration summary reports outlining policy coverage, exceptions, and recommendations

Required Qualifications:

Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas is mandatory:

6 - 8 years of experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Information Protection

Hands-on experience with both Symantec DLP (Endpoint, Network, Email) and Zscaler DLP / Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA)

Strong understanding of content inspection, data classification, regex-based detection, and file fingerprinting

Experience migrating or redesigning DLP solutions in hybrid or cloud-first environments

Familiarity with CASB, Email Security Gateways, and Cloud DLP APIs (M365 Purview, Google DLP)

Proficiency in incident workflow design, alert tuning, and SIEM integrations.

Understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, etc.)

On-site work location in Long Island, NY, at the Client site is required - M-F, Normal Business Hours

Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and client-facing consulting skills

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Zscaler platform configuration (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX)

Prior consulting experience with enterprise clients or Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs)

Knowledge of SaaS integration patterns, cloud proxy architecture, and zero-trust data protection

Familiarity with PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs for automating DLP configurations and reports

Certifications (Preferred):

Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional (ZCCP-IA / DLP)

Symantec DLP Administrator
