The Opportunity

Functions as an advanced technical IP/Data Network, Cybersecurity or Optical Transport Architect and supervisory role. Independently develops and applies advanced network knowledge, architecture engineering techniques, concepts, and approaches to unique network engineering problems. May supervise engineering and architect staff on projects of medium to high complexity or serve as a senior technical specialist providing network knowledge and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

This Senior Network Architect will be responsible for IP/Data network, Optical Transport and Cybersecurity architecture planning, development, design and implementation for Black & Veatch utility and other clients. Analyzes client's business needs to develop telecommunications network strategy and technology solutions. May offer technical advisory and consulting services to the client. Provides Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to business development and pursuit activities, including creating proposal, scope, level of effort estimation and implementation plans. Leads and participates in project execution and technical delivery. #LI-NK1 #LI-Hybrid

Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • 8-10 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently holds or has held vendor and recognized independent certifications (e.g. PMP, CISM, CCNP, CCDE, NSR II, JNCIP, CISSP, SANS ISC, INL CCE, CISM, CISA, Ciena OC-A, OC-P, OC-C, Fujitsu, SEL, etc.) preferred or equivalent to 8+ years of industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in information Security/Computer Science/Electronics and Engineering/Information Technology or any other degree, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual uniquely qualified to perform the job responsibilities.
