Cloud Architect (Google Cloud Platform)

Birmingham, AL

Long term Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect, and implement highly scalable and available solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) to meet business requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop architecture blueprints, design patterns, and best practices for Google Cloud Platform-based applications.
  • Lead the migration of on-premises applications to Google Cloud Platform, including assessment, planning, and execution.
  • Implement DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and automation using tools like Terraform, Jenkins, and Kubernetes Engine.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on Google Cloud Platform best practices and cloud architecture principles.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure that Google Cloud Platform solutions meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization's cloud strategy.
  • String Knowledge in Junit, Spring Framework, Spring Security, SpringBoot and JPA application development experience.
  • Strong experience in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Openshift, and Kubernetes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), including Google Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Google Cloud Storage, and Google BigQuery.
  • Proficiency in architecting and deploying applications using Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Pub/Sub.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture principles, microservices architecture, and containerization technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and configuration management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Google Cloud Platform certifications such as Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Data Engineer are a plus.
