Engineering Group Lead - Tokenization Product Group

BNY Digital Assets is looking for Engineering lead for its Tokenization product group. Our Digital Assets Tokenization strategy focuses on leveraging BNY existing capabilities to become a key player in the tokenized ecosystem by providing scalable solutions across both traditional and tokenized landscapes. Areas of focus and product themes are cash, payments and collateral. We are developing scalable and flexible products to meet evolving client needs while adhering to the highest standards of risk management, regulatory oversight, and security practices. Our Digital Assets platform will deliver better products faster by developing asset-agnostic, interoperable solutions across blockchain networks. Responsible for technical aspects of the Product/Platform, including engineering and design decisions, guiding team members in technical matters.

This role is in New York - 4 Days a week in office and 1 optional remote.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Lead delivery of technology solutions within the Tokenization Product / Platform; oversee and drive on-time completion of analysis, design, development, testing, and release of critical applications in partnership with the Product / Platform Manager.
  • Lead software development best practices across pod development teams, aligned with standards and technical roadmap set by Engineering Lead.
  • Design and build secured and scalable Digital Assets platform with core capabilities such as smart contract design and deployment on public chains, and secured wallet infrastructure.
  • Manage Product / Platform-specific tech vendor assessment and ensure vendor accountability.
  • Escalate incidents or concerns to the Engineering Lead for resolution as needed.
  • Manage technical dependencies and needs across pods (e.g., resourcing, design implications, technical debt).
  • Provide thought leadership and support for pod-level engineers and developers with issues and questions (e.g., through office hours).
  • Provide technical feedback to Product Owners, integrating input across all technical teams including solutions architecture and design.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Lead to identify opportunities for new technologies in the Product / Platform through research and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and track adherence to tech development KPIs, with regular aggregated reporting of progress across pods.
  • Guide production issues support and root cause analysis to remove blockers.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Extensive software and technology asset development experience, preferably in the Digital Assets/Web3/Blockchain space.
  • Experience with agile ways of working preferred.
  • Experience managing and integrating multiple technical teams.
  • Familiarity across DevOps, data management, security, software development, and system architecture.
  • Agility to quickly adapt to customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to make hard and fast decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to align the organization on complex technical decisions.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of product experience, 5-10 years in the financial industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems analysis and program development with related supervisory, management, and administrative experience required.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $116,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
