Work Schedule: On-site 5 days/week for the first 90 days, then hybrid 3 days/week (Mondays and Wednesdays required)

About the Role
A leading financial institution headquartered in Middletown, CT is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join their IT team. This role is ideal for a proactive and communicative professional with strong experience in server environments, scripting, and infrastructure maintenance. You'll be part of a collaborative team working on impactful infrastructure projects and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot server-related tickets and perform ongoing server maintenance (Windows Server 2012-2019)
- Address backlog of vulnerabilities in collaboration with a dedicated team member
- Build and optimize PowerShell scripts, identifying automation opportunities
- Support Windows OS, SQL databases, backup systems, and email platforms
- Provide effective customer service to internal users and backup Level 2 support
- Create and maintain system documentation and deliver user training as needed
- Manage physical and virtual server environments, network shares, and system security
- Administer Active Directory, enterprise backup systems, and server operating systems
- Install, configure, update, and automate systems and software
- Collaborate with vendors, developers, and internal users to resolve technical issues
- Monitor systems and resolve complex problems
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration
- Strong working knowledge of VMware
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
- Experience with Server Administration (Windows Server 2012-2019)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Azure cloud environments
- Familiarity with patch management and vulnerability remediation
- Exposure to Cisco CallManager (telecom experience a plus)
- Working knowledge of SQL Administration (not DBA-level)
