Job Description:

We are actively seeking a Senior Power BI Consultant with 15+ years of overall experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Enterprise Reporting Solutions, including at least 8+ years of hands-on Power BI expertise. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical skills, business acumen, and strong communication capabilities to drive critical data reporting initiatives across large-scale enterprise environments.

This position requires a U.S. Citizen, , or H1B (no OPT/CPT candidates). The consultant should have a proven record of building scalable, secure, and high-performance dashboards and reports that meet executive and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations aligned with business KPIs and goals.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and data architects to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Create Data Models (star/snowflake schemas) using Power BI Desktop with strong DAX and Power Query skills.

  • Optimize Power BI data models for performance and scalability across large datasets.

  • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and advanced security models in Power BI.

  • Integrate Power BI with diverse data sources: SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, Excel, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, APIs, etc.

  • Provide expertise in Power BI administration, including workspace setup, user access, refresh schedules, and gateway configurations.

  • Define best practices and mentoring junior Power BI developers.

  • Participate in solution architecture design, proof of concepts, and technical documentation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, Data Science, and Business Teams.

  • Lead the standardization and modernization of enterprise reporting through Power BI migration initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in IT with a strong focus on BI and Data Analytics.

  • 8+ years of specialized experience in Power BI development and administration.

  • Strong knowledge in DAX, Power Query (M Language), and SQL.

  • Experience with Power BI Embedded, Power BI REST API, and custom visualizations is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Factory, and other cloud-based analytics tools is highly desirable.

  • Expertise in building paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex datasets.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a client-facing role.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certifications.

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Knowledge of Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
