Job Details

Position: Data Modeler

Location: Charlotte, NC ( Hybrid onsite 3 days a week)

Contract Length: 12 months+

Top 4 requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of Star Schema/Snowflake Schema (NOT Snowflake tool) and Third Normal Form (3NF) data modeling methodologies
  • At least 5-6 years as a pure data modeler (not informatica/data science etc blend)
  • Oracle Exadata
  • Power Designer or Erwin

Position Summary

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead data modeler, reviewing and approving all database design changes
  • Work with product owner to understand and groom requirements
  • Analyze datasets to vet requirements, identifying components and their relationships
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to meet requirement specifications and data warehouse standards
  • Support development and testing efforts
  • Responsible for inventory of data models, working to remediate any gaps
  • Accountable for timely delivery of all documentation and design activities
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Required Qualifications

Work Experience

  • 5+ years designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models using industry standard data modeling software such as PowerDesigner, erwin, etc.
  • 5+ years working with Data Warehouse / Data Mart / Business Intelligence applications
  • 5+ years of experience working with Oracle, Oracle Exadata, SQL Server, or other industry standard database platforms
  • Expert knowledge of Star / Snowflake and Third Normal Form (3NF) data modeling methodologies
