Job Title: NetApp Storage ONTAP Administrator / Engineer

Job Summary:

The NetApp Storage ONTAP Administrator / Engineer is responsible for managing, configuring, and supporting enterprise storage systems using NetApp ONTAP. The role involves storage provisioning, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and ensuring data protection and high availability across environments. The engineer will work closely with infrastructure and virtualization teams to integrate storage solutions with VMware and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain NetApp ONTAP storage systems.

Configure and manage NFS, CIFS, SAN, and iSCSI protocols.

Implement and manage SnapMirror, SnapVault, and SnapCenter for data protection and replication.

Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and optimize storage utilization.

Troubleshoot storage-related issues and perform root cause analysis.

Manage firmware upgrades, patches, and system health checks.

Integrate and support storage within VMware and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).

Maintain documentation for storage architecture, procedures, and configurations.

Ensure compliance with data retention and security policies.

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of experience in NetApp ONTAP administration and engineering.

Strong understanding of storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, SAN, iSCSI).

Experience with SnapMirror, SnapVault, and SnapCenter technologies.

Proficiency in performance tuning and capacity planning.

Experience integrating storage with VMware vSphere and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently and collaborate across IT teams.
