Job Description:

Summary:

The main function of this role of Laboratory Data Administrative Specialist is to accurately input sample data to the Laboratory Information Management System. This position is in a microbiology lab that is projected to process more than 85,000 samples this year. Seeking a candidate who is interested to work in a fast-paced environment to support the laboratory team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Primary - High volume data Entry of customer and sample information into LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
  • File and retrieve corporate documents, records, and reports
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including email and phone messages
  • Prepare responses to correspondence containing routing inquiries
  • Light laboratory tasks such as storing and disposal of completed samples

Top Skills:
  • Attention to details to ensure that customer is sample information is entered accurately.
  • Prior data entry experience
  • High data entry speed and accuracy due to time-sensitive nature of the laboratory samples
  • Good spelling

Additional Skills:
  • Verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking, customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Ability to keep information organized and confidential.
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Team player and detail oriented.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED required

2+ years' experience required.

Environment:

Candidate will be performing office-based work in a lab environment. Seeking a candidate who is comfortable with exposure to the lab. Candidates who have performed data entry/clerical in a lab or plant environment previously may be a good fit.

Additional Notes:

Lab work will be assigned as possible when data entry tasks are complete.
