Job Description
The Role
The Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for supervising plant industrial engineers and other roles supporting the function. The person in this position will team with management to develop hourly and salary staffing plans and lead actions to achieve productivity objectives and control labor costs. The selected individual will interact with production management daily regarding all matters related to staffing requirements as well as support development of direct and indirect labor targets with Accounting and Operational Leadership.

The Role

The selected individual will interact with production management daily regarding all matters related to staffing requirements as well as support development of direct and indirect labor targets with Accounting and Operational Leadership.
What You'll Do: (Responsibilities):
- Design and optimize lean manufacturing cells using advanced systems and simulation tools to enhance spatial efficiency, equipment utilization, material flow, and workforce productivity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing Minutes Per Hour (MPH) and Jobs Per Hour (JPH) performance metrics.
- Monitor, analyze, and report plant production rates to ensure operational targets are met.
- Support facility layout planning and reconfiguration to maximize space utilization and streamline equipment and process flow.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams to proactively address product and tooling/fixture issues.
- Support the joint ergonomics team, coordinating efforts between union representatives and salaried staff to improve workplace safety and ergonomics.
- Partner with Health, Safety, and Ergonomic (HSE) teams to enforce compliance with all manufacturing safety regulations and procedures.
- Stay current with emerging manufacturing technologies and equipment to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless integration and support for new and existing product launches.
- Identify and eliminate root causes of manufacturing issues to reduce recurrence and improve process reliability.
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives through product and material re-engineering strategies.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment w/ focus on continuous improvement
- Bachelor's Degree in related field required
- Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles required
- Applied knowledge of throughput efficiency software (TBIA, TIP, DTR, GPM&C, etc)
- Experience with APS and GMOS
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's Degree preferred
- Experience with automation principles
- Project Management experience is a plus
- Product/Portfolio planning experience
- Previous experience in a union environment
