Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid – must be local and willing to go into the office periodically)

Role Type: 6-Month Contract (possibility for extension)

Job Description
We’re seeking a Data Architect who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting large information technology projects for one of our clients in the northeast.
The Data Architect will design and manage the organization's data infrastructure, creating blueprints for how data is collected, stored, and integrated to meet business goals. They will work with data engineers, analysts, business leaders, and compliance teams to align data strategy with business objectives and ensure successful implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Work with business SMEs to understand analytical and reporting requirements
• Translate business and reporting needs into conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Define data standards, relationships, and data pipeline transformation requirements for data engineering implementation
• Design and implement Redshift data models, including tables, views/materialized views to ensure optimal performance and scalability

Required Experience/Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in related field with 8+ years of experience as a data engineer (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• Experience in transforming business requirements into optimal data models, ideally with customer analytics experience
• Expertise in dimensional modeling (Star and Snowflake schemas)
• Experience with AWS Redshift and performance optimization
• Knowledge of AWS Glue, Redshift, Step Functions for data architecture
• Familiar with AWS DataZone for data lineage and governance
• Self-driven with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a consistent record of on-time delivery
• Excellent communication skills

Nice-to-Haves
• Utilities industry experience
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or Associate)
• AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate

Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Pay & Benefits Summary

  • Pay rate up to 68/h W2
