We are seeking a UX Researcher to support ASU Online and AI technologies on our Product and User Experience team. Every day you'll help improve the experience of millions of learners by driving user-centered research that informs product design and strategy. You will work with a cross-functional team (designers, engineers, UX writers, data analysts, and product managers) and lead both qualitative and quantitative research to identify pain points, uncover opportunities, and support the development of impactful digital experiences at ASU Online.
Essential Duties:
NOTE: This is not a fully remote position. Must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale, Arizona.

Essential Duties:
- Conduct generative and evaluative research to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivations using methods such as observation, interviews, surveys, usability testing, and contextual inquiry; track metrics, KPIs, and post-launch insights.
- Translate research goals into well-scoped test plans and select appropriate methods across both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
- Partner with product designers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the development cycle to inform and validate design decisions.
- Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research findings into clear, actionable insights that shape product strategy and enhance user experiences.
- Facilitate and lead in-person and remote research sessions, including focus groups, participatory workshops, and co-design activities.
- Build and maintain personas, user journey maps, and generative research artifacts that reflect user goals and pain points.
- Develop and present compelling research summaries and reports tailored to various audiences, including executive stakeholders.
- Create dashboards that integrate qualitative insights with behavioral and analytics data to inform decision-making.
- Manage multiple research initiatives in an agile environment with shifting priorities and timelines.
- Stay current with UX research trends, tools, and best practices to contribute to the team's continuous improvement.
- Assume or coordinate other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
NOTE: This is not a fully remote position. Must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale, Arizona.
Desired Qualifications:
- Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
- Evidence of 2+ years integrating user research into digital product design and development.
- Demonstrated experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis.
- Evidence of a strong portfolio or work samples that demonstrate impact through user research, including clear examples of how insights influenced design outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience designing and leading research projects from discovery to synthesis and reporting (independently or collaboratively).
- Demonstrated familiarity with design thinking practices and facilitation of collaborative design sessions.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with UX designers, engineers, product managers, and data analysts in agile environments.
- Demonstrated familiarity with tools such as Qualtrics, UserTesting, Google Analytics, or similar platforms for conducting and analyzing data.
- Demonstrated skill in developing research reports, presentations, or dashboards to communicate findings clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of UX design principles and processes; hands-on design experience is a plus.
