We're looking for a seasoned Senior Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Engineer to join our dynamic R&M Engineering team. Description: Senior Reliability and Maintainability Engineer
We're looking for a seasoned Senior Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Engineer to join our dynamic R&M Engineering team. This role plays a critical part in designing, certifying, and supporting commercial aircraft by applying advanced reliability and maintainability principles, modeling, and analysis. R&M Engineering is essential to ensuring optimal aircraft performance, lifecycle economics, and compliance with safety and airworthiness standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply modeling, simulation, and data analytics tools, including statistical and probabilistic analysis.
- Act as a technical expert supporting cross-functional design teams throughout the aircraft development and support lifecycle.
- Contribute to defining and evaluating technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, operational availability, and maintenance costs.
Design for Reliability & Safety
- Validate and verify system reliability requirements.
- Allocate reliability requirements to suppliers.
- Conduct failure modes, effects, rates, and detection analysis.
- Perform safety and certification analysis and support reliability testing.
Design for Maintainability
- Validate and verify maintainability requirements.
- Analyze task times and evaluate designs using digital tools, including virtual and augmented reality.
- Assess TPMs related to schedule reliability, operational availability, and maintenance costs.
Collaboration
- Engage with system suppliers, airline customers, program leaders, and internal teams.
- Communicate effectively across R&M Engineering, program teams, and design functions.
- Manage multiple tasks and contribute both individually and as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent).
- 14+ years of engineering experience.
- 5+ years in reliability engineering within commercial aviation.
- Experience in aircraft systems design or analysis (e.g., propulsion, electrical, hydraulics, avionics, etc.).
- Proficiency in Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and tools like CAFTA, ReliaSoft, or FaultTree+.
- Experience integrating FTA into commercial aircraft certification.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
- Experience in project planning and execution.
- Proven technical leadership capabilities.
