Daikin Applied is now hiring for a Mechanical/Electrical Test Engineering Intern in Plymouth, MN!

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Test Engineering Intern to join our dynamic Engineering team. Location: Plymouth, MN in office 5 days per week

Timeline: This Internship opportunity is for May-August 2026

Essential Responsibilities:
  • You will own your own project(s) with support from the Test Engineering team
  • Day-to-day work will include:
    • Contribute to technical project plans for new or upgrades to existing test equipment
    • Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting issues with test cells, instrumentation, data acquisition software, and test units
    • Develop HVAC and technical expertise
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with test technicians and product engineers to accomplish testing

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Sophomore or Junior currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with data acquisition, instrumentation, and NI LabVIEW
  • Formal coursework in the areas of measurement systems, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, machine design, and/or strength of materials
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, preferred 3.5 or better
  • Reside within a 300-mile radius of our Plymouth, MN office

The typical hourly pay rate for this position is $24/hr - $30/hr. This represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
