Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Test Engineer (FSD) to design, implement, and execute test automation strategies in support of software and hardware application testing. This role involves developing and maintaining automated test scripts, executing grey box testing, and ensuring the product meets user requirements through rigorous validation. The ideal candidate will be an expert in QA methodologies, possess experience with Test Driven Development, and have strong working knowledge of Windows and Mac OS, as well as the Microsoft 365 environment.
One member of the team will serve as the Lead Automation Engineer, providing technical leadership and strategic direction for test automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for application products
- Conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure all system requirements are met
- Execute grey box testing for software/hardware systems
- Analyze and document test cases, generate detailed progress reports, and communicate testing results
- Work with cross-functional teams, including developers and business analysts, to identify and resolve software defects
- Understand and apply Agile and QA methodologies in daily activities
- Participate in risk management assessments and software/hardware development activities, emphasizing user requirements analysis
- Ensure high-quality software delivery in fast-paced release cycles
- Support Test Driven Development processes and practices
- Remain adaptable to emerging test automation tools and technologies
- Provide test engineering expertise across Windows and Mac operating systems
- Work within the Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring testing meets security and compliance standards
- If designated, serve as the Lead Automation Engineer, overseeing test automation strategy and mentoring team members
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master s preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in test engineering and test automation
- Proven experience with UFT (Unified Functional Testing) and UiPath automation tools
- Ability to quickly adopt and implement new or emerging automation tools
- Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) environments
- Solid knowledge of QA processes, Agile methodologies, and SDLC
- Strong understanding of grey box testing techniques
- Proficient with Windows and Mac OS platforms
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and services
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
Preferred Skills:
- ISTQB or other QA/Test Automation certifications
- Experience with additional automation tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Experience in testing within federal or government contracting environments
