This role is critical in supporting our Business Intelligence and reporting functions, with a focus on SQL understanding, cross-functional collaboration, and data visualization. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in interpreting data, drafting report wireframes, and communicating technical requirements to BI teams.
Must-Have Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to write and understand SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of Excel (including charts, pivot tables, and functions) and PowerPoint to extract, manipulate, and present data effectively.
- Familiarity with MicroStrategy is preferred, but experience with similar tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is acceptable. Ability to write and communicate requirements for future dashboard enhancements and new reports.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively between technical teams (ex: data engineers) and non-technical stakeholders (ex: business users and product managers).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, ask the right questions, and propose actionable insights from data.
- High attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of data accuracy in decision-making processes.
- Familiarity with the SDLC process, particularly as it pertains to reporting and business problem definition, development, testing, and UAT.
- Telecom industry experience.
- Perform extensive data collection, analysis, and validation using a variety of sources such as relational databases, manual files, and external websites.
- Design, write, and execute SQL queries for ad hoc data analysis and reporting. Create and publish both regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports.
- Document reporting requirements and processes, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data components. Test and validate reports and data extraction processes to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, business analysts, and business users, to understand requirements and communicate insights.
- Leverage data visualization tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, or Power BI) to create visualizations and dashboards that effectively communicate data insights.
- Apply strong critical thinking skills to analyze complex data sets, identify issues, and uncover actionable insights. Maintain a high standard of data quality and ensure accuracy in all reports and analyses.
- Understand and contribute to the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), specifically in relation to reporting. Engage in requirements gathering, solution development, testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure reports meet business needs.
