Job Overview:
The Virginia Department of General Services is seeking an experienced Oracle ERP Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support Oracle ERP environments, ensuring the stability, performance, and integrity of mission-critical enterprise resource planning systems. This role involves maintaining Oracle 19c databases, RAC clusters, Dataguard standby configurations, and supporting ERP application environments with robust backup, recovery, and performance strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and support Oracle 19c ERP databases, including RAC and Dataguard Physical Standby configurations.
  • Manage RMAN backup and recovery procedures for ERP systems.
  • Perform data migrations using Oracle Data Pump (expdp/impdp) utilities.
  • Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager for performance monitoring, diagnostics, and alert management.
  • Support ASM (Automatic Storage Management) in a Linux environment.
  • Collaborate with ERP application teams for database integration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and disaster recovery readiness for Oracle ERP environments.
  • Provide documentation and support for audits and system reviews.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience as an Oracle DBA working with Oracle 19c, Oracle RAC, and Dataguard.
  • Strong background in Oracle ERP database administration.
  • Proficient in RMAN, Data Pump, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
  • Solid understanding of ASM and Linux-based Oracle environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification preferred.
  • Exposure to Linux/Unix system administration.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server is a plus.
