Job Summary:
The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, high-impact technical projects from initiation through delivery. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise and project management skills to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage resources, mitigate risks, and ensure timely, on-budget delivery of software, infrastructure, or technology-driven initiatives. The Senior Technical Project Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, product, QA, operations, and business stakeholders to align project objectives with organizational goals.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technology Project & Delivery Manager to lead the implementation of management and automation systems in our warehouse operations. This role involves independently managing complex, cross-functional projects from concept through completion, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of WMS, WCS, and automation systems, experience in engineering solutions, and a proven ability to lead projects with tight deadlines.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the full lifecycle of challenging warehouse management and automation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead and contribute to engineering reviews, providing input on systems architecture, facility processes, and automation components.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to prioritize projects, set milestones, and maintain schedules.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks.
  • Oversee the execution of systems and automated equipment designs, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Lead installation, throughput, and safety qualifications for automated equipment.
  • Facilitate effective meetings, driving technical and business discussions to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Provide regular project status updates, risk analyses, and mitigation plans to leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external teams to enhance project execution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency across engineering and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM-related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in project management, process engineering, or implementing automation systems.
  • Strong experience in managing cross-functional projects involving warehouse management and automation, material handling, or integrated systems.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Asana, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and modern DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to lead technical teams and drive high-impact solutions.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with WMS and WCS and automation solutions such as conveyors, sorters, high-speed manufacturing lines, and robotics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning & Execution:
    • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and budget estimates for complex technical projects.
    • Define project objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Lead project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Facilitate clear and consistent communication on project status, risks, issues, and changes.
    • Manage expectations and negotiate priorities to align with business goals.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, including software engineers, architects, QA, DevOps, and product owners.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, resolving conflicts and removing obstacles.
    • Mentor junior project managers and team members to develop project management capabilities.
  • Risk & Issue Management:
    • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks and issues.
    • Develop contingency plans and escalate critical issues as needed to senior leadership.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce project management best practices, methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), and governance standards.
    • Conduct project post-mortems and apply lessons learned to improve future projects.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Budget & Resource Management:
    • Manage project budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting financial performance.
    • Optimize resource allocation to meet project demands efficiently.
