Summary

Do you love taking on big challenges that require exceptionally creative solutions? Do you deeply understand how an incredible camera experience should work? As part of our Camera Technologies group, you'll help design the innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You'll design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You'll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we'll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras.The Camera Architecture team is responsible for research, design, and specifications of camera hardware for Vision Pro, iPhone, and other Apple products. The team is seeking an exceptional imaging scientist/engineer with responsibilities for supporting future camera simulation and camera systems development!

Key Qualifications

Excellent problem solving and analytical skillsExcellent communicator, team player, and ability to work in a cross functional mannerFluency with Matlab, Python, familiarity with C/C++, and version controlExpertise in physical modeling and simulationExpertise with general signal/image processing conceptsExperience with sensors and imaging technologyExperience in computational imagingExperience in computer graphics, and in particular ray-tracing and light fields is a plusExperience with AI and ML is a plus

Description

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about working on modeling of the real world based upon physical principles. In this role, the candidate will work on end-to-end imaging system simulation for future cameras. Great communication is a key to success as the candidate is expected to work with multi-functional teams!- Act as a camera systems simulation consultant, and work closely with camera architects to help specify future camera hardware for Vision Pro and iPhone, and other Apple products- Lead 3D computer graphics scene generation integration with camera systems simulations - Help develop and maintain depth-of-field, computer graphics-based camera systems simulation infrastructure- Work closely with sensor, firmware, software, and other cross-functional teams to develop and validate new simulation infrastructure- Simulate various focus pixel arrangements for future cameras in Apple products. Work closely with sensor, auto-focus, depth, and software/ML teams for development of focus pixel technology- Help develop the simulation of light fields

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500.00 and $243,300.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
