Location: Huntsville AL
Clearance Requirements: Top Secret (TS) Applicants must be eligible for a security clearance
Position Status: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $170K/Annum + Benefits

Position Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and platforms for mission-critical projects. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced, agile environment alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and developers to transform complex, disparate data into actionable insights.
You will leverage your expertise in Java development, Oracle database tuning, and CI/CD automation to deliver secure, scalable solutions that support advanced analytics and decision-making. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful initiatives in areas such as national security, fraud detection, and data-driven research.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain data pipelines and platforms to organize and process large datasets
Write clean, secure, and efficient Java code for data analysis, automation, and warehousing
Optimize performance of Oracle databases through tuning and partitioning strategies
Automate workflows using CI/CD practices for builds, testing, and deployments
Create and maintain PL/SQL scripts and stored procedures for data manipulation and processing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions aligned with business needs
Ensure compliance with security and clearance requirements throughout the development lifecycle


Required Skills/Education:

Top Secret clearance (TS) required
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
10+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in large-scale enterprise environments (or 14+ years without a degree)
Strong proficiency in Java programming, Oracle database tuning, and PL/SQL scripting
Hands-on experience with CI/CD automation tools and practices
Ability to work independently and manage complex projects with minimal supervision


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica) and data warehousing solutions
Familiarity with DevOps principles and collaboration tools
Knowledge of SDLC models (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative)
Understanding of Oracle VLDB concepts, partitioning, and performance optimization
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (preferred)
