Job Title: Project Support Specialist

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Ridgeland, MS

Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Work Type: Onsite (Some telework allowed)

On-Call: Yes (for disaster recovery or 24/7 facility support)

Travel: Occasional, in-state only

Job Overview:

Client seeks a Project Support Specialist to assist with the implementation and support of the new vital records database management system. This role will support data modernization and interoperability initiatives and provide technical and training support to internal staff and external partners such as hospitals, funeral homes, hospices, and nursing homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and maintain working knowledge of the vital records data management system.
  • Respond to calls, emails, and online support requests.
  • Deliver training to hospitals, funeral homes, coroners, and other healthcare entities.
  • Provide technical support to internal Vital Records staff.
  • Assist with data transfer and business process improvements supporting state and federal interoperability.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to support users in learning and using data systems.
  • Effective communication with teams managing agency data and modernizing systems.
  • Windows 10 Advanced proficiency
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems Intermediate proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government or public health entities on data or IT projects.
  • Familiarity with Vital Records systems and processes.
  • Crystal Reports Intermediate
  • SQL Beginner
  • DevOps Beginner
  • FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) Beginner
