Job Description:
Summary:
The Renter Solutions department at one of our clients has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer 2 to join a Product Health technical team. This team is responsible for the retention and maintenance of driver and loyalty profile information, ensuring this data is securely available to other services, solutions, and third-party vendors. You will work alongside analysts, engineers, and technical leaders on a suite of applications and services that support renter and loyalty capabilities, leveraging technologies such as RESTful APIs, AWS Cloud, React, Oracle, and Teradata.
As an Engineer 2, you will apply your technical expertise to solve business problems and serve as a subject matter expert in your area of focus. In this hybrid role, you'll combine data engineering with software development to build robust, scalable, and high-performance systems that power data-driven platforms. Responsibilities include evaluating technology effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research, and investigation, and recommending improvements to enhance quality and efficiency. You will also work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that align with business needs.

Job Description:
- Incorporate security and compliance in all decisions; ensure policy requirements are met and continuously identify opportunities to improve security posture.
- Provide technical expertise for planning, analysis, design, implementation, and control of organizational data.
- Handle complex data management initiatives involving multiple disciplines and business groups, including database design, integration, source-to-target mapping, data modeling, and performance tuning.
- Consult with internal teams to implement long-range data architecture and management strategies.
- Translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, and developers to design data models and database schemas based on requirements.
- Support baseline responsibilities, including on-call and release management rotations as needed.
Required Skills:
- Must reside in the United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii).
- Ability to work within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
- Commitment to incorporating security into all decisions and responsibilities.
- 3+ years of experience in data model design.
- 3+ years of experience writing and tuning complex SQL queries, with strong analytical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong data analysis and data modeling skills.
- Experience with Teradata (bonus for familiarity with Teradata DDL).
- Working knowledge of data modeling methodologies.
- Experience in data software engineering, preferably Java.
- Expertise with big data technologies, BI, and data warehousing development.
- Experience with Oracle SQL.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Java development experience.
- Experience with big data solutions and NoSQL DBMSs.
- Experience with public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Familiarity with configuration management and build automation tools (Git/Jenkins).
- Experience with API development.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
