Programmer Analyst 3 Microsoft Power Apps and Automate

Location: Richmond, VA

Job Summary:

The Programmer Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert in Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate within an innovation-focused environment. This role is critical for leveraging Microsoft's Power Platform tools to build applications and develop automated workflows that enhance business processes and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience with Power Apps and Power Automate, including demonstrated proficiency in building custom apps and automations. Candidates will be expected to showcase their expertise during the interview.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop user-friendly Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and transform business needs into scalable Power Platform solutions.

  • Lead workshops and training sessions to promote innovation and empower users in app development and workflow automation.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including training manuals, process guides, and FAQs.

  • Act as a technical advisor throughout the application development lifecycle.

  • Conduct analysis of current business processes to identify automation opportunities using Power Automate.

  • Incorporate change management best practices into solution rollout and user adoption strategies.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate, including custom app development and workflow creation.

  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong background in business process analysis and improvement.

  • Proven ability to translate business problems into technical solutions using Power Platform.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, encouraging collaboration and driving results.

  • Knowledge of organizational change management to support user adoption.

  • Strong project management abilities, able to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, or other Microsoft Power Platform tools.

  • Background in data analysis, database management, or data-driven decision-making.

  • Understanding of Power Platform governance, security, and best practices.

  • Prior experience in public sector or transportation-related organizations is a plus.
