Position: IT Finance Controller
Location: Plymouth, MN
Contract duration: 6+ Months
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations for a large-scale enterprise construction initiative. This role will be responsible for managing the department s budget across multiple cost centers, ensuring accurate tracking of purchase orders (POs), capital expenditure requests (CERs), accounts, and overall budget performance. The Controller will play a critical role in monthly variance reporting and annual budget planning, supporting strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget Management & Oversight
Lead the development, monitoring, and control of departmental budgets across multiple cost centers.
Ensure alignment of financial plans with project goals and timelines.
Financial Operations
Manage all aspects of Purchase Orders (POs), Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs), and account tracking.
Maintain accurate and timely records of expenditures and commitments.
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and present monthly spend variance reports with actionable insights.
Support quarterly and annual financial reviews with leadership and stakeholders.
Strategic Planning
Collaborate with project managers and department heads to support budget forecasting and planning.
Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to guide investment decisions.
Compliance & Controls
Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
Implement and maintain robust financial controls and audit readiness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
7+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in construction or enterprise project environments.
Strong understanding of cost center budgeting, PO/CER workflows, and financial reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience working in cross-functional teams within large organizations.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with enterprise reporting platforms and data visualization tools.
