What You'll Do
As a key member of our facility, you'll:
- Keep the lab running smoothly by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and up-to-date SOPs.
- Manage inventory and ordering of lab supplies, including chemicals and gas cylinders.
- Assist with sample preparation for mass spectrometry analysis.
- Support and maintain our laboratory management system.
- Cross-train with other lab roles and grow into higher-level lab functions.
- Help train new users on equipment and procedures.
- Contribute to data management, statistical analysis, and client reporting.
- Lab Safety & Maintenance (15%): Champion safe practices and ensure compliance with EHS guidelines.
- Daily Operations (60%): Prepare samples, interact with scientists, and manage consumables.
- Data & Information Management (15%): Archive and share research data using lab systems.
- Education & Outreach (10%): Participate in instrument demos and user training.
Required:
- B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences field.
- Hands-on experience in a chemical lab environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills for lab equipment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with data analysis and statistical principles.
Preferred:
- M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Experience with mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, and omics data analysis.
- Knowledge of lab management systems and scientific equipment training.
- Basic programming skills (R, Python).
