Director of Information Technology
Location: Woodbury, MN (On-site, Full-Time)
Target Salary: $130,000-170,000
Our client is looking for a strategic and driven IT leader to join their team as Director of Information Technology. This role is based at their headquarters in Woodbury, MN and requires full-time, in-office presence. You'll lead a collaborative team of IT professionals, ensuring the organization's technology environment meets industry standards and supports innovation, efficiency, and growth-especially within the convenience store technology sector.
Role Overview
As Director of IT, you'll provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership across all technology functions. You'll oversee infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and help-desk operations, while also guiding the adoption of emerging technologies like AI to enhance both customer-facing and internal processes. You'll work closely with senior leadership to align IT initiatives with business goals, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement an IT roadmap that supports business growth, continuity, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Operational Management: Direct daily IT operations including infrastructure, applications, data management, disaster recovery, and support services.
- Team Development: Hire, mentor, and manage IT staff, fostering a high-performance culture through training and development.
- Budget & Vendor Oversight: Manage IT budgets and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective procurement and service delivery.
- Security & Compliance: Establish IT policies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Business Continuity: Lead disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure system resilience and data protection.
- Innovation & Collaboration: Evaluate emerging technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
- Experience: 7+ years in IT leadership, including team and budget management.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience with enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, networking, applications, cybersecurity, and AI.
- Project & Process Management: Familiarity with IT service management, project methodologies, and change management. Preferred experience with Windows/Linux, C#, and T-SQL.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels.
- Strategic Alignment: Demonstrated success in aligning IT with business goals to drive measurable improvements.
