Salesforce Technical Architect

Plano, TX

A Salesforce Technical Architect defines and implements high level, scalable Salesforce solutions, focusing on security, performance, and integration, while also mentoring developers, ensuring best practices, and maintaining documentation for successful, long term technical success. This role translates business requirements into technical specifications, oversees the data flow into and out of the platform, and guides the selection of appropriate technical components for the most sustainable and beneficial solution

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design:

Create architectural artifacts like reference architectures, data flow diagrams, and integration strategies to guide solution development.

Technical Leadership:

Establish and enforce Salesforce best practices for development and administration, ensuring the quality and scalability of the platform.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work with business stakeholders and other IT functions (Product Owners, BAs, etc.) to understand requirements, present solutions, and align technical designs with business goals.

Integration Expertise:

Design and oversee integrations between Salesforce and other systems, ensuring efficient data flow and secure data handling.

Data Security & Management:

Emphasize data security and manage large data volumes, including data modeling and migration strategies.

Mentorship & Guidance:

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and administrators to foster best practices and technical growth.

Strategic Advisory:

Act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them toward appropriate and creative uses of Salesforce functionality over custom solutions when possible.

Documentation:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, development processes, and standard operating procedures.

Technical Vigilance:

Stay informed about Salesforce releases and new features, and stay current with industry trends to recommend improvements and prevent technical debt.

Essential Skills:

Deep understanding of Salesforce platform (Apex, Lightning, configurations, etc.).

Expertise in Salesforce integration patterns (SOAP, REST APIs, middleware).

Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.

Ability to design for scalability and maintainability.

Excellent communication, presentation, and problem solving skills.

Proficiency in managing data flow, security, and large data volumes.

Ability to lead and influence technical teams and clients
