POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Global Strategic Insights, Mature Eye is a critical and dynamic role within the Commercial Excellence, Global Insights team at Johnson & Johnson MedTech Vision, providing strategic foundational VOC insights, identifying unmet needs to build a robust solutions pipeline, and driving product launch excellence! This role leads delivery of global strategic insights from both quantitative and qualitative market research methods to impact marketing, business model and product innovation.

This role would lead strategic insights for both our Surgical Vision portfolio as well as our multifocal contact lens portfolio within Vision Care. This role is responsible for translating insights to influence, shape decisions and drive action for the Mature Eye stronghold at Johnson & Johnson MedTech Vision. This position will be a primary point of contact for the Global Strategic Marketing team and collaborating with cross-functional partners within Commercial Excellence, R&D, and Medical Affairs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as Commercial Excellence (CE) lead for the Mature Eye Stronghold team, with a primary focus on the Surgical vision portfolio.
  • Shape Surgical Vision's innovation and portfolio strategy by representing the voice of the customer/patients to identify unmet needs and drive customer-centric innovation and craft strategic direction for the business.
  • Build learning agenda working closely with marketing leaders to identify knowledge gaps & develop comprehensive learning plans. Influence key business leaders to secure resources and implement the learning plans.
  • Drive insights while working as an internal consultant and inspiring leader across the Surgical Vison organization to develop market research and insights plan to support innovation and brand strategy.
  • Critical capabilities include: defining and translating key business questions and objectives into actionable study plans, choosing appropriate research methods, guiding and tailoring innovative research design, providing integrated analyses and presenting actionable insights to partners to drive product development and commercialization strategy.
  • Demonstrating leadership courage to set boundaries and ensure time is spent on the most critical / high value projects is critical.
  • Serve as a thought leader to the broader organization on all Mature Eye related insights.
  • Lead the Mature Eye Commercial Excellence team to support development and shape a high-performing insights team.
Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • A minimum of 8 years dynamic experience in market research/insights, including both qualitative and quantitative methods is required.
  • Strong project management skills is required.
  • Experience with managing high-performing teams, including talent development and mentorship is required.
  • Ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity, think analytically, prioritize work, and allocate resources accordingly while demonstrating an understanding of marketing and science and ensuring compliance policies are followed is required.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills is required.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Strong background of insights leadership in medical device industries, vision/eye health, surgical, consumer health, or consumer-packaged goods is preferred.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional and management teams to impact decision-making (i.e., Marketing, Medical Affairs, R&D, Regional Teams) is preferred.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply advanced analytics to tackle business issues is preferred.

Other:

  • This position will be located in Irvine, CA and requires up to 10% domestic travel.


The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
