Job Title: Solution Architect
Location: US Remote
Travel Requirement: Yes, to Japan.
Languages: English (mandatory), Japanese (preferred)

Resource: Only Locals to TX.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with strong Cloud Architecture, Development, and Analytical skills. The ideal candidate will be capable of designing and assessing complex architectures, recommending improvements, and driving technology excellence across projects. The role requires hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments (with a strong focus on IBM Cloud), full-stack JS technologies, and deep understanding of architectural frameworks and development practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build complex Cloud-based architectures with focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Perform architectural assessments and Gap analysis for existing systems and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Work across multiple cloud platforms - IBM Cloud experience is mandatory.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements in code quality, development processes, and system performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure architectural alignment with enterprise standards and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership across full project lifecycles - from development to delivery.
  • Contribute to proposal creation, effort estimation, and technical presentations for clients.
  • Support in cross-cultural client interactions, especially with Japanese clients; readiness to travel to Japan.
  • Communicate architectural solutions clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 18+ years of overall experience with a minimum of 5+ years in Solution Architecture roles.
  • Proven experience designing Cloud architectures - must have worked on IBM Cloud services and APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript technologies: Node.js, Angular, and related frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of Database design and technologies (SQL/NoSQL/Cloud-native DBs).
  • Deep understanding of architectural patterns and frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
  • Proven development background - able to analyze and improve code and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage in and manage conversations with global clients and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N3/N2/N1) is a significant advantage.
  • Experience working with Japanese clients or in Japan.
  • Certification in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) or Cloud certifications.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid / Remote with travel as per project needs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Japan for client engagements.
