Description

SAIC is currently seeking a Network Administrator II to support the Digital Range Training Systems ( DRTS) in Fort Greely, Alaska.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides ongoing network support, addresses availability issues, overcomes performance problems
  • Installs, maintains, and coordinates the use of network systems
  • Manages network performance, diagnoses performance problems, and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLA requirements
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network
  • Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance, and problem resolution
  • Trains users, maintains, creates, and deletes user accounts
  • Maintains and updates system security plans on all platforms
  • Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures, and standards
  • Enforces network security policies and procedures. Supports integration of tactical rotational networks such as JNN; JNTC; MCS; JTEN

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree and one (1) year of experience; Additional six (6) years' experience accepted in lieu of degree

Required Clearance:
  • None; ship Required

Required Skills:
  • Experience providing ongoing network support, addressing availability issues, and overcoming performance problems
  • Skilled in installing, maintaining, and coordinating the use of network systems
  • Experience managing network performance, diagnosing performance problems, and undertaking tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLA requirements
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network
  • Experience reporting on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues, and plans to improve network availability, performance, and problem resolution
  • Experience training users, maintaining, creating, and deleting user accounts
  • Skilled in maintaining and updating system security plans on all platforms
  • Experience implementing and coordinating network policies, procedures, and standards
  • Experience enforcing network security policies and procedures. Supports integration of tactical rotational networks such as JNN, JNTC, MCS, JTEN
