Job Description:

Position: ServiceNow Developer
Location: Houston, Texas - 77064
Duration: Contract to hire
Schedule: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote
Pay Rate Range: $54-72.78

Summary:

Responsible for the installation and maintenance of the IT Service Management systems to ensure integrity of versions, functions, and performance. Design and implement integrated service management solutions to support business goals.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Architect, design, and implement integrated solutions across ServiceNow, SAP, Event Management (OmniBus), Monitoring, DataPower, Identity Management, etc. Identify more integration opportunities and needs to promote unified and efficient service management processes. Support on demand integration requirements.

Work closely with BA (business Analyst) to identify opportunities to design and develop applications to satisfy business needs.

Inspect existing applications or functions to ensure continual process improvements: standardization, intuitive, and efficient.

Design, develop, and maintain solutions within the ServiceNow environment to include modifications of applications, forms, workflow, interfaces and other configurations required that support ITIL processes and ensure optimal performance of the ServiceNow system.

Performs migration of code from development and test systems to production system.

Create and maintain migration documentation

Maintain code control log and validates code migration documentation, in accordance with audit and change control guidelines

Provide technical leadership and training, perform peer code reviews and ensure the ServiceNow team follows development best-practices

Responsible for overall ServiceNow code quality

Responsible for reviewing requirements to ensure that they are provided in sufficient detail to be accurately estimated

Attend regularly scheduled meetings to identify any tasks or user stories that are "at risk" and provides support as needed

Work with management and key stakeholders to ensure best practice for design and testing strategies for Development, QA and User Acceptance Testing

Troubleshoot software problems, implement bug fixes and perform root cause analysis on ServiceNow issues

Collaborate with other System Administrators and ServiceNow support concerning strategies and technical aspects of platform upgrades

Education:
  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • ServiceNow System Administrator Certification
  • ServiceNow Application Developer Certification

Required:
  • 3+ Years of ServiceNow Developer experience.
  • 5+ years industry programming experiences.
  • General programming skills: java, c, c++, java script, python, J2EE framework, Unix shell, Windows PowerShell, open source library such as AngularJS, jQuery, Bootstrap, CSS, etc
  • SQL programming skills: be able to write complex query using standard SQL language.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Background script, Ajax JS library, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Business Rules, Advanced Reference Qualifiers, Reporting, Security through Access Control Rules and Workflows
  • 2+ years' experience of CMDB architecture, data models, and Skill to consolidate multiple data sources of configuration items.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, waterfall, etc)
  • Skills to configure and program systems and applications using protocols: LDAP, HTTPS, SNMP, TCP/IP socket, etc

Additional Experience a plus:
  • Previous experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server a plus
  • 3+ years of experience as System Administrator of other ITSM platforms
  • 5+ years of experience using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Ajax
