Seeking a customer-obsessed, analytical merchandising analyst to own the in-app merchandising / curation strategy for our restaurant delivery partners. This role will be responsible for maximizing in-app customer engagement and conversion by optimizing how we display available restaurant delivery options in the app, relying on data-driven insights and structured experimentation. You will analyze customer behavior, market trends, and performance metrics to optimize which restaurant partners are featured to customers, ensure the best possible delivery experience, and inform prioritization of future restaurant partnerships.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Restaurant Partner Curation

  • Curate the restaurant partner selection displayed to customers on the delivery application based on performance data, customer preferences, and market trends
  • Develop category-specific merchandising strategies to enhance restaurant partner visibility and drive incremental sales
  • Collaborate with marketplace and partnerships teams to ensure featured restaurant partners align with customer demand and quality standards
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for engaging new restaurant partners and optimizing existing partner mix

Analytics & Insights

  • Analyze customer purchase patterns, engagement metrics, and restaurant partner performance data to identify opportunities for optimizing partner selection and visibility
  • Leverage dashboards and reporting tools to track key performance indicators for restaurant partners
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on customer behavior to understand preferences, ordering patterns, and factors influencing restaurant partner selection
  • Translate complex data findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders

Test-and-Learn

  • Design and execute A/B tests and multivariate experiments to optimize restaurant partner placement, featuring strategies, and promotional tactics
  • Develop clear hypotheses, success metrics, and testing roadmaps to validate merchandising strategies
  • Monitor test results, synthesize learnings, and scale successful experiments across the platform
  • Document experiment outcomes and create a knowledge base of proven merchandising best practices

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product, marketing, and operations teams to implement restaurant partner merchandising initiatives
  • Collaborate with 7NOW Promotions & Marketing to ensure merchandising strategy and placements are aligned with delivery-specific promotional campaigns
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to leadership through clear data visualization and storytelling

Competitive Intelligence

  • Perform competitive benchmarking analysis of restaurant partner offerings and merchandising strategies across the delivery ecosystem
  • Monitor external trends in food delivery, quick-service restaurants, and customer preferences
  • Identify emerging opportunities and threats in the restaurant delivery marketplace

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; degree in Business, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or related field preferred
  • Years of relevant work experience: 2-4 years

Specific Knowledge and Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in ecommerce, merchandising, category management, or digital merchandising
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or similar)
  • Proven ability to translate data insights into actionable business recommendations
  • Passion for improving customer experience through data-driven decision making
  • Understanding of digital marketplace dynamics and customer behavior in delivery or e-commerce environments
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing A/B tests or other experimental methodologies
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with delivery, restaurant, food service, or ecommerce retail categories is a plus
