Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ultrasound Engineer to develop and optimize advanced imaging algorithms for a next-generation ultrasound platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in ultrasound physics, signal processing, and real-time image enhancement, with strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++. This role requires a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, research-driven environment, working closely with both software and hardware teams to push the boundaries of medical imaging technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced signal processing and image reconstruction algorithms for ultrasound imaging.
  • Develop and optimize image enhancement techniques to improve image quality, resolution, and diagnostic value.
  • Design and evaluate algorithms for various ultrasound modalities (e.g., B-mode, Doppler, color flow, elastography).
  • Work closely with the engineering team to integrate algorithms and image processing pipelines into the ultrasound system.
  • Conduct simulations, prototyping, and testing of ultrasound systems, components, and algorithms.
  • Develop and execute verification and validation plans to ensure algorithm performance and system stability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to algorithm implementation and image quality.
  • Optimize real-time data processing to ensure minimal latency and high-performance image rendering.
  • Collaborate with cloud and backend teams to integrate AI and machine learning models for advanced image analysis (planned future development).
  • Work with hardware teams to ensure efficient signal acquisition and data transfer between imaging components and software systems.

Requirements:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field with a focus on signal/image processing.
  • 5+ years of experience in ultrasound system development, with a strong emphasis on algorithm development and image enhancement, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Deep understanding of ultrasound physics, signal processing, image formation, and image analysis techniques.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement advanced algorithms for ultrasound imaging.
  • Expertise in image processing techniques, including filtering, segmentation, and feature extraction.
  • Expertise in ultrasound beamforming methods.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
  • Familiarity with ultrasound simulation tools (e.g., Field II, k-Wave).
  • Experience with real-time imaging systems, particularly in high-performance, low-latency environments.
  • Understanding of parallel computing, GPU acceleration (CUDA/OpenCL), and hardware-optimized processing for imaging applications.
  • Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills for signal processing pipelines.
  • Experience with machine learning applications in medical imaging is a plus.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology.
  • Hands-on role in shaping the next-generation ultrasound platform from development to commercialization.
  • Flexible work environment with remote collaboration opportunities.
  • Exposure to AI-driven imaging advancements and cross-functional R&D efforts.
