Job Details
Epic Orders Analyst:
Our client is seeking a certified and detail-oriented Epic Orders Analyst to join their Clinical Applications team. This position plays a key role in maintaining and optimizing the Epic Inpatient Orders module, ensuring efficient, compliant, and user-friendly workflows that support clinical operations. The ideal candidate has a strong command of Epic build and configuration, understands inpatient clinical processes, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
This role is majority remote. Applicants must be able to occasionally work onsite in Boston, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain the Epic Inpatient Orders application to align with clinical and operational requirements.
- Optimize and enhance Epic workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience across departments.
- Manage provider access, procedure catalog maintenance, and integration with external systems (HL7 and related interfaces).
- Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to translate business needs into effective Epic solutions.
- Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities to ensure quality and stability of system builds and upgrades.
- Prepare and maintain thorough documentation of configuration decisions, workflows, and change management processes.
- Support go-live, post-implementation, and optimization phases, ensuring smooth transitions for end users.
- Provide ongoing application support, resolving incidents within defined SLAs and assisting in training and knowledge sharing.
- Evaluate upcoming Epic releases and determine the impact of new functionality on existing systems.
- Travel as needed for implementation support, large-scale upgrades, and go-live events.
Qualifications
- Current Epic Inpatient Orders Certification (held for a minimum of three years) required; certifications in Order Transmittal, Bugsy, DlinDoc, or Bridges are a plus.
- At least two years of direct Epic build and implementation experience following certification.
- Strong understanding of inpatient workflows including order management, documentation, and clinical decision support.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale Epic go-lives, including readiness, validation, and stabilization phases.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Skilled in creating comprehensive documentation such as build guides, workflow diagrams, and training materials.
- Associate s degree required; higher education preferred.
