The Role

Our client's Facilities Maintenance Engineers are responsible for providing 24x7x365 Tier II technical support and troubleshooting assistance to field operations for our facilities' critical infrastructure equipment such as AC power distribution, buildings, grounding, fire systems, generators, Auto Transfer Switch (ATS), Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS), UPS battery strings, Direct Current (DC) power plants, DC plant batteries, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Static Transfer Switch (STS) and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, including Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) units, chillers, dry coolers, condensers, pumps and building structural issues to ensure operational integrity, improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Location

This is an onsite position with multiple openings (locations listed below). Candidates must have a valid drivers license and be willing/able to commute to the site in which they are based. This role may require on-call or emergency disaster recovery availability expectations.

- Seeking an Engineer located in AR, KS, OK or MO (Eastern or Southern)

The Main Responsibilities
  • Provides Tier II support to field technicians and field management in stabilizing emergency situations and reducing the dependency on vendor support for issues that can be solved internally.
  • Dispatches vendors in ticketing system, follow up on repairs with vendors and process vendor invoices.
  • Assists field technicians in reducing the dependency on vendor support for issues that can be solved internally.
  • Participates as a subject matter expert on task forces or cross functional projects; advises departments on solutions for technical problems or barriers.
  • Recommends solutions to increase network integrity and reliability through testing and evaluation.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience working with critical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills with ability to assess project needs and effectively communicate in delegation of complex technical tasks/assignments to team of contractors and vendors.
  • Ability to travel in short notice to provide hands-on assistance with emergency situations. Travel is a requirement of the position.
  • Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical background with experience in a skilled trade.
  • Mechanical or electrical course studies and/or certifications.
  • Financial acumen and technical knowledge specifically in managing vendors and interpreting services required, billing for repairs, etc.
