The person should be strategic, forward-thinking, and able to mentor teams while driving technical excellence.
Technical Leadership & Experience
- 10+ years hands-on experience in Java (must), .Net (preferred), Python, AWS Cloud, Microservices, Kubernetes, Angular (latest versions).
- 7-8 years leading development teams, ideally overseeing multiple leads and technical areas.
- Strong architectural background with practical, hands-on coding experience (not just strategy).
- Experience with Spring Boot, MongoDB, Postgres SQL, and AWS (Kubernetes, S3).
Role Expectations
- Will oversee 5-6 development leads, each responsible for a specific area within Freddie Mac's multifamily business.
- Responsible for software development, operations, vendor/contract management, and engaging with business stakeholders.
- Guides Agile teams on coding practices, CI/CD, and automated deployment.
- Mentors and coaches technical teams, ensures code quality, and removes technical impediments.
- Aligns product roadmap with technical strengths and opportunities.
- Builds reusable and scalable components, and provides transparency on evolving priorities and design changes.

- Excellent communication skills, especially with executive leadership.
- Able to translate technical requirements and explain them to business stakeholders.
- Forward-thinking, able to challenge the status quo and bring in best practices and industry trends.
