About this Position

QA Analyst is responsible for verification of complex software applications in all phases of development life cycle. Analyzes the requirements from Business Analysts to come up with test plans and approach. Creates and executes manual system level test cases, analyzes the results and creates execution reports. Reports defects and works with business analysts and developers to resolve them. Performs debugging and root cause analysis of product issues and defects.

This position is Hybrid to begin with 1-2 days in the office.

The estimated salary range for this role is: $70K - $82K

Responsibilities & Qualifications

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and execute functional test plans and test scenarios/cases for first pass, end-to-end, integration and regression phases.
  • Create and maintain smoke, regression and post-prod testing suites.
  • Create tests to cover every applicable layer- UI(cross-browser/device), API (BFF, System, Process), ETL, MQ, Database, VSAM & Mainframe.
  • Provision/create test data required to perform testing.
  • Perform risk-based testing for hot-fixes.
  • Conduct exploratory testing for every release.
  • Log defects clearly and support with relevant evidence to aid a quick triage and resolution of defects.
  • Maintains the Test environment with timely code promotes using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Adhere to the established and mandated QA processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with QA Leads to develop effective test plans, test strategies.
  • Collaborate with BA/PO & QA Leads to review test coverage.
  • Reviews and analyzes the business and system specifications and assess risks using established KRIs.
  • Performs test prioritization in regression phase to manage risks and manage costs and efforts.
  • Analyze the impact of changes to upstream and downstream systems and incorporate them in end-to-end and integration tests.
  • Analyze data inconsistencies while utilizing the test data during test executions.
  • Provide clear test effort estimations to the product teams.
  • Create and maintain smoke, regression and post-prod testing suites.
  • Create Requirement Traceability Matrix to track the test coverage.
  • Generate and share post test execution and defect reports with the product team.
  • Document process documents, run-books, test data creation steps etc.
  • Protects the company's authority to do business by complying with legal and ethical standards, policies and procedures.
  • Complies with company's policies while handling the test data used in testing during all phases and environments.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Engineering
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Experience in estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating testing activities.
  • Strong test scenario and test case writing skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to help find the root cause of a defect.
  • Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall SDLCs.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Superior knowledge of testing methodologies including smoke, system/functional, integration, regression and post-production testing.
  • Expert level experience in using Application Life Cycle Management and Test Management tools such as Jira and TestRail.
  • Expert in API testing using SOAP UI or Postman.
  • Strong experience in writing/editing complex SQL queries.
  • Strong experience in conduction cross-browser /device testing using SauceLabs, Browserstack or AWS Device farm.

Preferred Education, Experience, Certifications or Licenses, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • ISTQB Foundation(CTFL) , CAST, CSTE
