Overview

The SHT Engineering Group is responsible for the deck plate engineering support of special hull treatment (SHT), LVA, and other similar systems for external hull installation. These responsibilities include providing technical interpretation of requirements, technical regulation of process, process troubleshooting, processing equipment mastery, trade training and mentoring, procedure development, full scale validation of procedures and processes, technical auditing of requirements compliance, off-site technical support of the vendor base primarily NNS, among other similar functions.

Other areas of technical focus include process improvement, mold and tooling design, SHT handling fixture design, development and tracking of actionable process metrics, and collaboration with the SHT Engineering Group.

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for achieving the technical and programmatic objectives set forth for the SHT Execution Group. This includes meeting established and new commitments, hiring and assigning resources to accomplish tasking, new hire training and development, capturing of new business, insuring compliance with EB policies and procedures, insuring technical quality of all work products, EVMS progressing, and maintaining strong working relationships with all customers (internal and external).

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, Marine Engineering or other technical discipline (e.g. chemistry or physics)
  • 4+ years of professional engineering experience
  • Ability to travel to offsite locations, including NNS, other Shipyards, and Vendors (about 5%)

Preferred:
  • 3+ years of non-metallic materials engineering work experience
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Familiarity of Ship specs and procedures as they pertain to non-metallic materials
  • Working knowledge of EB Business Systems (JCALS, TeamCenter, Artemis, etc)
