Job Details

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Maintenance and Utilities Engineering to lead site engineering, reliability maintenance, utilities, capital projects, and facilities operations in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment. This role reports to Site Leadership and spearheads strategic initiatives across safety, sustainability, automation, and long-term site scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Projects & Engineering Leadership

• Develop and execute capital planning strategies, ensuring projects meet time, budget, and quality standards

Maintenance & Reliability

• Establish and manage robust preventive maintenance and equipment reliability programs

Utilities & Facilities

• Oversee utility systems, wastewater treatment, infrastructure, and site services (e.g., security, landscaping)
• Lead energy management initiatives supporting sustainability objectives

Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure operations align with GMP, environmental, and EHS standards
• Drive OE methodologies and contribute to site continuous improvement culture

Team Development & Budget Management

• Mentor engineering and maintenance teams; oversee up to 20 direct and contingent colleagues
• Manage budgets and ensure departmental expenditures align with strategic priorities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MBA or Master's preferred
• 10+ years experience in manufacturing engineering/maintenance, including plant start-ups
• 5+ years experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing preferred
• Proven leadership in capital execution, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration
• Strong knowledge of FDA/EHS regulations, validations, and equipment lifecycle management
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and budget oversight skills
