Sr. Performance Engineer ( Azure / D365 OR ERP / Enterprise Retail / Analytical)

We re looking for an experienced Performance Engineer to support performance testing and tuning across the ERP transformation program for our Retail client.
This role will help design, execute, and analyze performance tests across Dynamics 365 Finance, AIS integrations, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, SynapseLink, custom .NET solutions, SQL Server and connected retail and supply-chain systems (including Kibo OMS, Relex, and Stibo PIM).
The Performance Engineer will work closely with QA, development, and infrastructure teams to identify bottlenecks, optimize system throughput, and help us set, measure and meet NFRs on our critical business workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute performance test plans across D365 Finance and connected integrations (AIS, ADF, Snowflake, etc.) using Azure Load Testing, JMeter, or similar.
- Establish baselines for key end-to-end workflows (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, GL sync, etc.) and measure throughput, latency, and stability.
- Develop reusable test scripts and frameworks for load and stress testing across APIs, integrations, and UI layers.
- Monitor system performance using Azure Monitor, LCS, SQL Profiler, Query Store, and other system logs to identify performance degradation and anomalies.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Infra teams to analyze compute sizing (VMs, SQL DTUs, IOPS), network latency, right-sizing and scaling configurations.
- Analyze results and provide actionable recommendations for database tuning, batch scheduling optimization, payload efficiency, and query performance.
- Support the creation of dashboards and reports to visualize throughput and latency trends over time.
- Document performance findings and tuning activities in Confluence and maintain test evidence for sign-off.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in performance engineering or performance testing, preferably in ERP in large-scale retail enterprise systems.
- Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 or any SCM and tools like Azure Load Testing, JMeter.
- Strong SQL skills with SQL Profiler, Query Store, and execution plan analysis experience.
- Familiarity with AIS ( Azure Integration Services) and Azure Data Factory performance patterns.
- Experience with cloud monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics).
- Understanding of integration performance metrics throughput, latency, payload efficiency, batch duration, and scheduling alignment.
- Ability to analyze infrastructure sizing and environment configurations for performance impact.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills; able to translate technical findings into business-impact statements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail ERP implementations or multi-system integration ecosystems.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ADO, and automation integration with performance test tools.
- Experience in .NET or C# scripting for custom load tests or data setup.
- Familiarity with Day-in-the-Life testing and production performance monitoring alignment.
The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($75.00-78.00), during the contract period. Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
