Job Description:
The UF Sports Analytics Lab is seeking up to 4 motivated students to serve as Sports Data Analysts, working 10-20 hours per week to support one of the Gators' athletic teams. Analysts will collaborate closely with coaches, athletes, and staff to collect, analyze, and interpret sports data, providing actionable insights that enhance team performance, strategy, and decision-making. This role offers hands-on experience in applied sports analytics and the opportunity to contribute directly to Gator Athletics' competitive success.
Expected Salary:
$15/hour
Minimum Requirements:- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate (Master's) student at UF.
- Strong interest in sports and sports analytics.
- Coursework or experience in statistics, data science, mathematics, sport management, or related fields.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
Preferred Qualifcations:
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar) is a plus.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience in sports analytics, research, or related projects is desirable but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
