Summary

Apple is looking for an expert human factors engineer who could initiate, plan, and lead investigational studies for the Spatial Computing space. As a member of a team that leads human factors studies for sensor based interaction technologies, you will have an opportunity to work on AR/VR space including Persona and multi-modal interaction experience. As a senior human factors engineer, you will work with product development teams to design and own an investigation to inform success criteria for sensor-based tracking features underlying Persona and Spatial Computing interaction. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of proven experience influencing the productization of technology.

Key Qualifications

Proficiency in the diverse toolkit of experience assessment for virtual human, avatar, and telepresence and ability to select, scale, and adapt your research plan to achieve a goal effectivelyAbility to identify research goals based on ambiguous problem statementsExperience in prototyping study tools to verify research hypothesesProficiency in statistical analysis and data visualizationA validated ability to present research findings and recommendations to all levels of partners, including executive managementAn ability to rapidly acquire familiarity with emergent technologies and software algorithmsExperience with Motion Capture, Multi-Sensory Interactions, or Biomechanics is helpful

Description

We identify human factors risk and propose vital human factors research at all phases of product/technology development. We work closely with engineers and designers to understand design and interaction challenges. We collaborate multi-functionally to identify the study goals and to develop a study plan for the goal. We influence cross-functional engineering teams by delivering results that could drive a decision. We Identify critical attributes for data collection and conduct statistical (qualitative and quantitative) data analysis to formulate insights. Visualize data and findings to deliver results and recommendations to collaborators.

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
