Description

We are looking for a skilled Product Manager to join our team in Altadena, California. In this long-term contract role, you will oversee the design, development, and execution of licensed and original products within specific categories. This position requires collaboration with internal and external partners to deliver innovative, consumer-focused, and trend-forward product lines that align with brand objectives and financial goals.

Responsibilities:
Lead the conceptualization, design, and prototyping of product lines, ensuring they meet consumer trends, market demands, and brand standards.
Manage product and licensed packaging approvals, ensuring alignment with quality standards, storytelling elements, and profitability objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative design, merchandising, sourcing, and licensing, to drive product development and approval processes.
Work closely with external partners, such as studios, content providers, and licensees, to ensure products align with brand equity and market expectations.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and product innovations to identify growth opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Oversee the preparation of custom design tools and retail pitches to highlight product differentiation by category.
Provide guidance and feedback to direct reports, fostering growth and ensuring high-quality work output.
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, balancing varying levels of complexity and deadlines.
Onboard new licensees and partners globally and locally, ensuring smooth integration into product development workflows.
Utilize graphic design expertise to create overlays, materials, and sculpting elements that enhance product quality and innovation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as industrial design, toy design, or fashion design.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design and development.
Proven ability to lead and develop team members effectively.
Strong expertise in hardlines design, including materials selection and sculpting.
Familiarity with licensed business models, such as apparel or toy companies.
Proficiency in graphic design tools and techniques, with the ability to create overlays and correct design elements.
Excellent knowledge of merchandising, retail strategies, and market dynamics.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
