We re looking for a Business Process Analyst to lead the documentation and mapping of business processes. This role will focus on capturing existing workflows for teams and cross-functional groups through interviews, workshops, and hands-on analysis. Key areas include land and mineral lease administration, rights-of-way and other commercial surface agreements, royalty accounting, oilfield operations, renewable energy development, and environmental compliance. Ideal candidates will bring experience in oil and gas land management (leases, rights-of-way, DOI, etc.), strong skills in process mapping and business documentation, and a familiarity with financial, land management, and GIS/production systems. The ability to work across teams, identify handoffs and dependencies, and clearly visualize complex processes is essential. Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a specialization in process documentation to support cross-functional teams in capturing and formalizing business processes. The ideal candidate is skilled in producing clear, user-friendly documentation and experienced with Microsoft Visio, Teams, and SharePoint. This role is critical to ensure that processes are well-understood, consistently followed, and properly maintained across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business units to gather and document current-state business processes via interviews, workshops, and remote sessions using Microsoft Teams.
Create accurate and professional process documentation, including flowcharts, process maps, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) using Microsoft Visio.
Store, organize, and manage documentation in SharePoint to ensure version control, discoverability, and accessibility.
Follow organizational standards for documentation format and structure.
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure process documents reflect actual business operations.
Support technical and functional teams by aligning process documentation with system requirements or training initiatives.
Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure changes are tracked and communicated effectively.
Some travel may be necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field
OR
An equivalent combination of relevant experience and training (minimum of 5 years of directly related experience).
3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Technical Writer, or Process Analyst role.
Proficiency with Microsoft Visio for process mapping and diagramming.
Practical experience using Microsoft Teams for collaboration and communication.
Working knowledge of SharePoint for content management, document control, and versioning.
Strong communication and interviewing skills to capture information from subject matter experts.
High attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Oil/Gas Land Management or Land Administration experience, or other Oil/Gas experience.
Familiarity with BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) standards.
Experience creating and managing documentation in a structured SharePoint library environment.
Exposure to regulated or compliance-focused industries is a plus.
