Job Description
NYCHA Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) Department serves as the backbone of the Information Technology division. The department ensures that the Housing Authority has a strong, stable and secure technology environment that enables the business to deliver services to New Yorkers effectively and efficiently. I&O strives to use innovative ideas to optimize and manage its environment, implementing industry standard best practices and automated processes. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Center Management, the I&O team is responsible for the design and implementation of various technologies including SAN, ESX, NetBackup, cloud.
The I&O team seeks a highly motivated individual to lead the ongoing modernization of our critical backup infrastructure. With minimum supervision and broad latitude for independent action and decision, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
-Design and administration with NetBackup 10.x (NDMP, MS-Windows, MS-SQL, VMware, Solaris, RedHat, Oracle), MSDP-C (local, AWS and/or Azure), A.I.R.
-Administer and troubleshoot/upgrade QUANTUM Scalar i6000, Veritas Appliances 5240 and Flex hardware 5350-HA and 5360.
-Respond to all backup failures and alerts via Veritas OpsCenter/Alta View; ensure that issues are handled in a timely manner.
-Provide detailed daily Backup status reports.
-Monitor Cloud backup consumptions.
-Develop, maintain and enforce backup procedures, standards, policies.
-Provide monthly Backup/Restore audits.
-Serve as key technical personnel for Data protection team.
-Continuously evaluate the system for improvement opportunities and make recommendations and enhancements.
-Maintain Veritas Data Insight and provide audit reports for CIFS upon request.
-Administer and maintain Disaster Recovery Procedures.
-Close interaction with customers and vendors to ensure minimal system down time when technical errors are raised.
-Collaborate with the other teams, identify operational characteristics, determine the presence of a problem, identify possible solutions, select the most appropriate solution, and implement that solution in a timely manner in accordance with the Change Control Process.
-Assist the server and application teams with troubleshooting.
-Administer Intelligent policies.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
