Network Engineer V (Onsite Engineer Extreme Certified)

< data-start="385" data-end="413">Position Overview</>The Network Engineer V will serve as a Senior Onsite Engineer with expertise in Extreme Networks and extensive experience in managing enterprise-class network infrastructures. This individual is expected to have 10+ years of relevant experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting advanced networking solutions, with certifications in Extreme Networks and other industry-standard platforms.
The role requires strong technical expertise across multi-vendor environments, project management skills, and the ability to provide advanced support for both wired and wireless infrastructure.
< data-start="1034" data-end="1065">Key Responsibilities</>
Manage and support enterprise networks with a focus on Extreme Networks solutions (switches, routers, wireless access points, and management tools).
Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective network solutions.
Lead and support network upgrade, migration, and expansion projects, including planning, implementation, and documentation.
Configure and manage network technologies: LAN, WAN, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and network security protocols.
Monitor and optimize wired and wireless network performance.
Implement and enforce network security controls across multiple platforms.
Provide project leadership, team mentoring, and serve as an onsite subject matter expert (SME).
Collaborate with IT leadership on infrastructure strategy, architecture, and modernization efforts.
Education:
BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR
AA/AS degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
Certifications (Required):
IAT Level II Certification (CySA+, Security+, CND, or SSCP)
CE/OS Certification
CCNA or equivalent
Preferred/Additional Certifications:
Extreme Networks Certified (mandatory)
VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage (v6.2)
Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, Aruba, Brocade, and Ruckus solutions
Extreme Networks: Layer 2/3, MLXe switches, Extreme IQ, OSPF, BGP, MPLS
Palo Alto Firewalls: PA-7050, PA-3060, PA-3260, PA-5450 with WildFire & URL Filtering
Cisco: Enterprise-class routers and switches
Ruckus: Layer 2 switches, Wireless Controllers, APs
Aruba: Wireless Controllers, APs, Airwave, ClearPass
Brocade: MPLS Layer 2/3 switches
Ciena: 100G OME 6500 DWDM Systems
Monitoring Tools: SolarWinds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends
