Infrastructure Architect

Northbrook, IL (Hybrid)

The position is for an Infrastructure Architect to spearhead the modernization of a legacy Oracle ATG ecommerce platform into a cloud-native architecture using Azure, Spring Boot microservices, and Next.js-based micro frontends. This includes owning infrastructure strategy, implementing secure and scalable systems, and enabling cloud-native operations across the platform lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver target infrastructure blueprints.

  • Bridge coexistence of legacy and cloud-native systems.

  • Align closely with application modernization efforts.

< data-start="848" data-end="885">Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps</>

  • Champion IaC practices using Terraform, Bicep, ARM.

  • Lead CI/CD strategy via GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.

  • Drive containerization and orchestration (Docker, AKS, Helm).

< data-start="1081" data-end="1110">Security & Compliance</>

  • Apply Zero Trust, RBAC, network segmentation, and encryption standards.

  • Collaborate with enterprise security for threat modeling and compliance adherence.

< data-start="1295" data-end="1327">Performance & Resilience</>

  • Architect for HA, DR, auto-scaling.

  • Conduct cost/performance optimization reviews.

< data-start="1424" data-end="1459">Cross-functional Leadership</>

  • Act as the technical bridge between infrastructure, DevOps, app teams, and security.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance across engineering teams.

Required Qualifications Summary

  • 8+ years in infrastructure/cloud architecture (at least 3 years in Azure).

  • Expertise in:

    • Azure services (AKS, App Services, VNets, Key Vault, Functions, etc.)

    • Spring Boot microservice patterns.

    • Next.js or React-based micro frontends.

    • Legacy system modernization, esp. Oracle ATG.

    • IaC tooling: Terraform, ARM, Bicep.

    • Container platforms: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS).

    • Cloud security & cost optimization.
