Position Description
We re seeking a highly skilled Messaging Platform Engineer/MQ Architect to design, deploy, and optimize enterprise-grade messaging solutions in hybrid cloud environments. This role is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in IBM MQ, high availability topologies, and secure message routing, who thrive in regulated environments and understand the nuances of performance, scalability, and audit-readiness.
You ll play a critical role in integrating messaging platforms into DevOps pipelines, ensuring observability, and enabling secure, resilient communication across distributed systems. Key Responsibilities
Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) topologies for messaging platforms (e.g., RDQM, multi-instance QM, shared cluster patterns)
Deploy and manage IBM MQ in AWS and hybrid cloud environments, ensuring secure and scalable connectivity
Integrate messaging platforms into DevOps pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code tools
Configure and maintain TLS encryption, channel exits, and authorization records to meet enterprise security standards
Monitor and troubleshoot messaging systems using Datadog or similar observability tools
Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure systems meet FINRA, SEC, and other regulatory requirements
Evaluate and support alternative messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, SonicMQ, and Confluent Kafka
Optimize performance and right-size infrastructure to meet non-functional requirements (NFRs)
Required Skills & Education
Proven experience with IBM MQ architecture, deployment, and administration
Strong understanding of HA/DR configurations and cluster management
Hands-on experience with cloud deployments, especially AWS
Familiarity with DevOps integration, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
Working knowledge of RabbitMQ, SonicMQ, or Kafka is a plus
Experience with observability platforms like Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
Exposure to regulated environments and audit-readiness practices
Understanding of security protocols, encryption standards, and performance tuning
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
